1. Fourteen-day withdrawal
Except where a statutory exclusion applies, a consumer may withdraw from an online purchase without giving a reason within 14 calendar days. For goods, the period starts when the consumer or a nominated person other than the carrier receives them; for an order delivered in parts, it starts on receipt of the last part.
Send an unambiguous statement or the form below to [email protected] before the deadline. Mika will acknowledge an electronic withdrawal notice in a durable form. The consumer bears the burden of showing that notice was sent on time.
2. Return and condition
After notice, return the goods without undue delay and no later than 7 calendar days, unless Mika offers collection. For change of mind, the consumer bears the direct return cost.
The consumer may handle an item only as necessary to establish its nature, characteristics and functionality and may be responsible for diminished value caused by additional handling. Original packaging and labels help protect the item but are not by themselves an absolute condition of the statutory right.
3. Refund
Mika reimburses payments received for the returned goods and, where applicable, the least expensive standard outbound delivery charge, without undue delay and no later than 14 calendar days after receiving the withdrawal notice. Mika may withhold reimbursement until it receives the goods or evidence they were sent, whichever occurs first, unless Mika offered collection. Extra outbound cost for a delivery method chosen above the least expensive standard option is not reimbursed. The original payment method is used unless the customer agrees otherwise, without a Mika refund fee.
4. Statutory exclusions
An exclusion applies only when its legal conditions are met. Relevant examples are goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised, and sealed goods unsuitable for return for health-protection or hygiene reasons after unsealing.
A ready-made item is not “custom” merely because it is handmade. A size selected from standard ready-made choices should not automatically be treated as personalised. Pierced earrings may be excluded for hygiene only where supplied with an appropriate seal and the legal conditions are genuinely met. No exclusion removes remedies for defective, damaged, incorrect or non-conforming goods.
5. Defective or non-conforming goods
If goods do not conform to the contract, statutory remedies are separate from change-of-mind withdrawal. Free repair or replacement has priority unless impossible or disproportionately costly. Where the legal conditions are met, the consumer may obtain a price reduction or withdraw from the contract. A free remedy includes necessary postage, labour and material costs and must be completed within a reasonable time without significant inconvenience.
These statutory rights may be exercised for a defect detected within two years after delivery. For a defect detected within six months, the statutory presumption and burden-of-proof rule applies where compatible with the nature of the item and defect. After six months, the consumer generally bears the statutory burden.
